In mei 2004 publiceerde Q 50 bands that changed the world! It takes a special kind of talent to alter the course of music from Abba to Led zeppelin. Q presents the mavericks and the mentalists who really shook the planet. De lijst is samengesteld door een team van negen Q-mensen. Bij elke artiest wordt een album genoemd om te buyen. In dezelfde periode publiceerde Rolling stone een vergelijkbare lijst onder de kop The immortals. Artiesten die in beide lijsten voorkomen worden vet weergegeven. Opvallend dat slechts twaalf artiesten in beide lijsten voorkomen. In de Q-lijst ontbreekt bijvoorbeeld Bob Dylan. |
