In december 2011 verscheen Top 2000 : het officiële magazine.
Een spin off van de succesvolle Top 2000-formule.
In dit magazine worden op pagina 60 en 61 50 elpeehoezen gepresenteerd.
onder de noemer 50 jaar platen
Uit elk jaar één. Van 1961-2011.
Er is een (onduidelijke) relatie met de 2000 singles die voorkomen in die fameuze lijst.
Maar niet al té duidelijk. De reden is dat die lijst gebaseerd is op losse nummers,
terwijl de gepresenteerde platen vooral bekend staan als albums.
Behalve een aantal platen die zelden tot nooit doordringen in serieuze muzieklijstjes

Er zit trouwens een foutje in: This is the life van Amy MacDonald verscheen al in 2007
