Oor - De essentiële 30 (in 2001 bij het 30-jarig bestaan)

Bij nummer 20 van 2001 zat een bijlage onder de titel

30 jaar popmuziek volgens Oor : unieke jubileum uitgave

In dat nummer werd onderstaande lijst gepubliceerd. De inleiding was als volgt:

"Ieder jaar wordt in Oor een zogenaamde eindejaarslijst gepubliceerd: een top 10 van de platen die de critici (van Oor, maar ook van alle andere landelijke pop-media) tot de beste van dat betreffende jaar bestempelen. Het complete Oor-schrijverskoprs heeft zich onlangs nog eenmaal over deze lijsten gebogen. Middels stemming werd uiteindelijk het allerbelangrijkste album van elk jaar bepaald. Het resultaat is een lijst, die nog altijd relevant is en de tijd des tands glansrijk heeft doorstaan: de essentiële 30"

Een prima lijst maar de geschiedenis wordt, zoals in het oude Rusland, regelmatig scherp "bijgesteld". In sommige gevallen worden in deze lijst platen genoemd die in een ander jaar uitkwamen. Opvallender is dat in deze lijst albums genoemd worden die toendertijd niet eens voorkwamen in het bewuste jaarlijstje . De eerste jaarlijst verscheen trouwens pas in 1973. - HvD 23 augustus 2005
