Toelichting over de samenstelling van de lijst Op basis van alle ingediende lijstjes is het mogelijk een eindlijst op te maken. Een titel die op nummer een staat krijgt 10 punten, nummer twee krijgt 9 punten en nummer tien krijgt 1 punt. Belangrijker dan het aantal behaalde punten is volgens muzieklijstjes.nl het aantal muziekkenners die een bepaalde plaat noemt. In de totaallijst wordt daarmee hier rekening gehouden. Dit leidt tot een kleine vertekening met de lijst zoals die in Oor wordt gepubliceerd, waar het aantal behaalde punten maatgevend is (zie Fleet foxes - Vampire weekend).
